La Casita del Tio Antonio is a small 2 bedroom holiday home, quite basic and with no luxuries. Its strength lies in its inimitable Andalusian flair. You will feel completely at home in this cosy, congenial Andalusian holiday rental, especially when you meet Antonio, the owner; an elderly gentleman from a rural background, who, until quite recently worked the surrounding land with just a mule and some basic farming equipment,  diligently and patiently improving the holiday home year after year.

There are fantastic views from the cottage over town, sea and valley and it is at the same height as the ruins of Frigiliana Castle on the adjacent hill. The cottage lies within the protected area of the Sierra Almijara region so it is right next to natural parkland with vast pine forests, perfect for hiking and mountain biking. Guests will need a car for shopping trips and visits to the beaches in and around Nerja.

On arrival, the parking is in the shade of some avocado trees which leads to the pool terrace by a small iron gate. Past the pool and a small outdoor cooking area, one arrives at the house which has a bamboo covered terrace and a brick barbecue right outside. On the terrace there is a large table and chairs for dining al fresco.

Inside there is a cosy living room with a dining area, comfortable sofa by a glass fronted fireplace and satellite TV.  To the left is the open-plan kitchen which is well equipped with a 4 ring cooker, microwave and a nice wooden work surface.

To the back of the house are two bedrooms and a small bathroom. The rooms are well furnished rustic with built-in wooden cabinets and homely decoration. The bedrooms overlook the valley and are quiet, peaceful rooms where you can hear the birds singing.  There is also a cot available on request at no extra cost.
All windows of the house are secured with iron latticework. There is also a pool house where the washing machine, seat covers and extras are located.

The entire grounds and the house are in excellent condition and the gardens boast a wide range of European and sub-tropical plants and flowers, imaginatively and colourfully displayed.  A perfect place for a holiday in one of the most interesting and unspoilt areas of the Costa del Sol!
 
Frigiliana is the nearest town and is within walking distance. It is a 10 minute drive to Nerja, which offers a variety of sandy beaches and shops, banks and all other needs. The motorway is near Nerja which connects to all other places of interest. To Granada and into the skiing areas of the Sierra Nevada is an hour’s drive. Malaga airport is 45 minutes. Between Nerja and Almuñecar there is nature reserve with various bays and the most beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol, a 15 minute drive from Casita del Tio Antonio.
