Situated right on the beach in a small settlement loosened up by Carchuna , this detached holiday house with private swimming pool stands on a 500m sq. plot. The house has 2 floors and is occupied by a large Spanish family from 01 July to 15 September each year. For the rest of the year, the upper floor is rented out and the ground floor is left empty.

One enters the house by an outdoor staircase from the garden which leads directly into the large salon with its huge windows looking out over the Mediterranean. The south-facing terrace, partly shaded by a big palm tree, leads off this room, as does the rest of the accommodation, which comprises 3 bedrooms, the kitchen and the bathroom.

The property is fenced in completely and includes a private car parking area behind the house. To the front lies the swimming pool, in use from Easter to the mid of October, which is also fully fenced to ensure the safety of young children.

A path leads from the house to a shingle beach, which extends for kilometres to the village of Calahonda. The bay here is still largely undeveloped and the area continues to live mostly from
agriculture. To the west the beach ends in a rocky outcrop, on which a lighthouse (faro) stands. On the other side of this rock is one the quietest and most attractive beaches of the Costa Tropical.

The nearest large town is Motril, which offers complete shopping and other facilities. From here to Granada and the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada it is a one hour drive. Malaga and Almeria airports are about one and a half hours away by car.

Casa El Faro is highly recommended for a peaceful, trouble-free holiday by the sea. There are several bars and restaurants in Calahonda, about 3km distant.
The climate is very mild thanks to the protection given by the Sierra Nevada to the north.
