"CORTIJO LOS OLIVILLOS"
LOS OLIVILLOS is a beautiful farmhouse nestling within its own 5000 square metres of organically managed land, filled with olive trees and an abundance of colourful wild flowers and plants. It is situated above the village of Ferreirola in the heart of the Alpujarra Natural Park approximately 900 metres above sea level. Los Olivillos is the ideal retreat for nature lovers and a great starting point for some stunning treks and walks through the nearby countryside and villages of the area known as La Taha.
The house itself is split into 3 apartments, 1 of which is occupied by the owner and the other 2 for guests - CASA LUNA (moon) and CASA ESTRELLA (sun). All the apartments have separate entrances and each terrace is facing in a different direction for optimum peace and privacy..
Both the guest apartments are furnished and decorated with excellent taste and attention to detail, inspired by traditional moorish style and elegance from the perfect blends of tone and colour of the rooms to the skilfully tiled bathrooms.
The gardens surrounding each apartment are a delight. Amidst an array of jasmine, lavender and marigolds, the olive, almond, fig and cherry trees provide ample shade for relaxing, in a hammock or garden chair, in a totally calm and peaceful environment surrounded by spectacular views of the mountain landscape. Passing cars are scarce and the only sounds are the clucking of the resident chickens, happily pecking around in the lower terraced garden.
Los Olivillos is reached by a 50 metre driveway (quite steep but perfectly accessible by car) leading up to the parking area from where there is a 50 metre footpath leading through part of the garden and down to the house.
The nearest place for shopping, banks and medical supplies is the village of Pitres, 15 minutes drive away. There are various bars and restaurants, including one vegetarian, in the nearby village of Mecina, 10 minutes walk away. The beaches of the Costa Tropical and Granada are about 1½ hours drive.
ACCOMODATION AND EQUIPMENT
CASA LUNA is suitable for 1-2 persons and comprises a 30 m²
living room with wood stove.
There is also a double bed separated from the living area by a low partition.
Open plan kitchen with 2-ring hob.
Bathroom with WC and shower..
Private east-facing lawn with outdoor seating and view.
CASA ESTRELLA is suitable for 1-3 persons.
Apartment on the first floor of the house.
Terrace with beautiful south-facing view.
1 bedroom with double bed..

Lounge with glass fronted wood stove and entrance to the terrace.
Partitioned kitchen with dining area, 4-ring hob and fridge freezer.

Outdoors there is a community room with washing machine, iron and ironing board. Comfortable garden furniture is available. There is a 2,5 x 2,5 metres splash pool in the garden that can be used in summer.
