.... in the midst of the terraced Mediterranean landscape of the ALPUJARRAS National Park, between the mountain villages of Pitres and Portugos, CORTIJO ADRIANO nestles on the southern slopes of the impressive Sierra Nevada mountains, at a height of 1000m above sea level. It is a detached cottage in a quiet and peaceful setting with spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and mountains and, also, an ideal starting point for short walks among the paths and terraces of La Taha and longer treks into the Sierra Nevadas (the southern part).
CORTIJO ADRIANO is the perfect place for a calm and relaxing holiday, far away from the stresses and strains of everyday life. The house is surrounded by a well maintained garden with a lawn and an 8m long swimming pool next to the house. The house, built mainly in natural stone and land are fenced in and altogether comprise 3000m². The house itself is accessed by a large, south facing terrace which leads into the lounge. This in turn leads onto the bathroom and 3 bedrooms. The lounge is spacious with dining area, seating area and open plan kitchen.. Both interior and exterior have a very rustic feel and the owner's good taste is apparent throughout. The rooms are painted in pleasant, serene shades and the furniture is rustic and of good standard. There is a central heating system as well as a cosy corner with sofa and fireplace. The sofa can be converted into an additional double bed.
The property is situated off the main road and down a smaller, relatively steep side road and then a short driveway leads to the house. There is parking space for 2 cars right beside the house. The small village of Atalbeitar is close by and is a perfect example of the traditional Alpujarrenean architecture with North African Berber style flat, tiled roofs and whitewashed outer walls. Pitres, a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive, is the nearest village for shopping, restaurants, bars, medical supplies and banking facilities. For days out by car, Granada is approximately 90 minutes drive and the coastal resorts of Motril and Salobreña 70 minutes.
